Digital Media Technology

The Digital Media Technology programme supports national strategies for the digital economy and the development of cultural soft power. Built on an interdisciplinary approach, it combines knowledge from computer science, art, design and communication studies to cultivate versatile, creative and innovative professionals. Graduates develop strong technical skills, artistic awareness, industry insight and a global perspective, providing core talent for the digital media industries and supporting the integration of the digital and real economies.

As a National First-Class Undergraduate Programme, it draws on ZJUT’s strengths in engineering and computer science to deliver an interdisciplinary “Engineering/Computer Science + Art” curriculum. The programme features multiple national and provincial first-class courses and a complete system of research and practice platforms. Through partnerships with more than ten leading domestic enterprises, it integrates industry, academia and research, giving students practical experience alongside their studies. Students also benefit from collaboration with the University of Exeter, which is recognised for interdisciplinary research in digital culture and immersive technology and has strong links with leading industry institutions including the BBC. This dual domestic and international pathway prepares graduates to meet the growing demand for talent in the digital cultural and creative industries.
