About Us

The ZJUT-Exeter Joint Institute (ZUTE) is a Sino-foreign cooperative, non-independent legal entity educational institution officially approved by the Ministry of Education. By combining the strengths of both universities' advantageous disciplines and sharing education and research resources, the Institute is guided by the philosophy of "international collaboration, interdisciplinary integration, synergy between science and education, and industry-academia convergence." It aims to build an internationalized strategic educational base centered on sustainable energy development and underpinned by digital intelligence sciences. By introducing high-quality international educational resources and establishing a cultivation model that integrates Chinese and foreign approaches as well as science and education, ZUTE seeks to nurture innovative and outstanding talents for a digital-intelligent future who possess an international perspective and innovative thinking.


ZUTE will consistently pursue its vision and mission of "Serving the national high-quality development strategy and regional innovation-driven development strategy, supporting Zhejiang Province in advancing the construction of a strong province in education, science and technology, and talent, supporting the university in progressing towards a world-class universities with Chinese characteristics, and building a high-level international cooperative educational base with global influence". It will fully leverage its strengths, with both universities joining forces to address global challenges, fostering digital intelligence empowerment through interdisciplinary integration, bridging education, science, technology, and talent cultivation through the synergy of science and education, and leading the digital-intelligent future through industry-academia convergence.


ZUTE will offer three undergraduate programmes and two postgraduate programmes. The undergraduate programmes include Energy and Environmental Systems Engineering, Data Science and Big Data Technology, and Digital Media Technology. The postgraduate programmes include Energy and Power Engineering, Electronic Information. These programmes are not only centered on nationally critical fields such as energy and the environment but also integrate multiple disciplines with digital technologies to create interdisciplinary programs, fostering an educational model that cultivates engineering talents across departments, disciplines, and specializations.
