On 21 January, a delegation from the University of Exeter (UK), including Matt, Lizzie and Claire, together with relevant representatives from Zhejiang University of Technology-Exeter Joint Institute (ZUTE), visited Hangzhou High School Qiantang Campus (hereinafter referred to as "Hanggao Qiantang") to conduct an admissions exchange activity. The initiative was to deepen university-high school cooperation, accurately connect with high-quality student cohorts, and lay a solid foundation for the smooth advancement of the Institute’s subsequent admissions work. Vice Principal Bai Xiaozhen of Hanggao Qiantang accompanied the entire activity.
At the start of the exchange, led warmly by Vice Principal Bai Xiaozhen, the delegation successively visited the campus environment, teaching facilities, and characteristic venues of Hanggao Qiantang. They gained a detailed understanding of the school’s educational philosophy, faculty strength, student quality, and the preparation status of senior three students.

After the visit, the two parties held a discussion meeting in the school’s conference room, with all senior three head teachers of Hanggao Qiantang participating, to conduct in-depth discussions on undergraduate admissions-related matters. At the meeting, Matt, representative of the University of Exeter, gave a detailed introduction to the University of Exeter’s educational characteristics, disciplinary advantages, international influence, and talent training philosophy, enabling the participating head teachers to fully understand the comprehensive strength of the university. Ms Xu Yan, Admissions Lead of ZUTE, offered a detailed interpretation of core aspects including the Institute’s preparatory progress, admissions policies, training model and entry requirements, highlighted ZUTE’s strengths in international education, and provided clear guidance for homeroom teachers to address application-related queries of students and parents. This provided clear guidance for head teachers to answer application questions that students and parents may concern about. Subsequently, the two parties held enthusiastic discussions on specific issues such as the further education planning of senior three students, the transportation of high-quality student sources, and cooperation in admissions promotion, reaching several consensuses.

This exchange visit to Hanggao Qiantang is another important measure taken by ZUTE in admissions promotion and student source cultivation. It not only built an efficient connection bridge with high-quality high schools, but also provided strong support for the precise development of the Institute’s subsequent admissions work, helping the Institute steadily promote various preparations for its operation.
