On 11 May, Professor Liz Jones, Vice President of the University of Exeter, and the delegation visited ZUTE. Qiu Mingming, Secretary of the Party Committee of our institute, Liu Yujing, Vice Dean (Executive Dean) met with the visitors.
Qiu Mingming extended a warm welcome to Professor Liz Jones and her delegation. She introduced the development progress, educational positioning, and talent training characteristics of ZUTE. She emphasised that the growth of ZUTE relies on the in-depth cooperation and joint efforts of both universities, and expressed her expectation for further collaboration in aligning teaching resources and innovating talent training models. She noted, such efforts would support the academic development and personal growth of students at ZUTE, driving the institute to reach new heights.

Liu Yujing provided an overview of the overall disciplinary development strategy of ZUTE. He elaborated on how ZUTE leverages its strong academic disciplines to focus on two key directions: “Green+” and “Digital Intelligence+”, to optimise its disciplinary framework and foster distinctive development. He highlighted that establishing interdisciplinary platforms around these themes would effectively stimulate research innovation, cultivate high-level talents with comprehensive competencies, and provide sustained momentum for high-quality regional and industrial development.

Liz Jones thanked ZUTE for its hospitality. She praised the facilities, nurturing environment, and development progress of ZUTE. She confirmed the University of Exeter’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with ZJUT to jointly build a high-level international education platform.
During the visit, the delegation toured ZUTE’s offices, the Chemical Engineering Training Centre, smart classrooms, the library, and the Phase II construction site of the institute on the Moganshan Campus. They gained detailed insights into the campus planning, practical teaching facilities, smart learning environments, and the support systems for international education at the institute.
