On 1 September, Professor Lisa Roberts, President and Vice‑Chancellor of the University of Exeter, UK, led a delegation to visit Zhejiang University of Technology. Professor Chen Jiming, President of ZJUT, met with the visitors. Principal officials of the Graduate School (Division of Discipline Development), the International Office, and the ZJUT‑Exeter Joint Institute(ZUTE) attended the meeting.

President Chen Jiming extended a warm welcome to Professor Lisa Roberts and the delegation. He noted that the University of Exeter is a key strategic partner of ZJUT. He expressed gratitude to Professor Lisa Roberts and her colleagues for their strong commitment and substantial support for the development of ZUTE. As a strategic cooperation institute built by both universities rooted in the fundamental mission of talent cultivation, aligned with shared educational philosophies and drawing on high‑quality resources from both sides, ZUTE stands as a landmark achievement of complementary strengths and mutually‑beneficial collaboration. He hoped that both universities would take the development of ZUTE as a vital anchor to further expand the scope and deepen the substance of cooperation, actively explore new models for collaborative talent development and innovative advancement in Sino‑British higher education in the new era, and set a benchmark for high‑level cooperation between Chinese and foreign universities.

Professor Lisa Roberts spoke highly of the progress made by ZUTE. She stated that the University of Exeter regards ZUTE as a core pillar within its global strategy. She looked forward to working together with ZJUT to build a world‑class Sino‑foreign cooperative education platform, and to establishing close, in‑depth and productive partnerships across key areas including talent training and scientific‑research innovation. Such collaboration will empower high‑quality development and internationalisation at both institutions, and contribute to mutual learning and integration within Sino‑British higher education.
